About Shuchita

Shuchita Sakwaya is a trained Kathak dancer and educator with over 20 years of experience in the field. She has recently moved to Cary after working in India, Dubai and Thailand as a Senior dance instructor and performer.

She started learning at a young age from her guru Smt. Sabu and continued her higher education in Kathak under the able guidance of Prof. Ranjana Srivastava and Dr. Vidhi Nagar, India. Later she went on to work and learn under the mentorship of renowned artist Dr. Pali Chandra at Gurukul Dubai.

She completed her Masters of Performing Arts from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi with a Gold medal in Kathak and holds the UGC NET certification from the government of India for research and teaching in Performing arts.

She had the privilege of performing at prestigious dance festivals internationally such as Bharat Rang Mahotsav, Dhouli Kalinga Mahotsava- India, Navrang Fest by Indian Consulate General-Dubai, Swiss International Kathak Festival and many more.

Over the years she has dedicated her life to promote the rich culture and tradition of Kathak and continues to do so.
